Ibanez George Benson GB-10 MIJ Sunburst from 2014

George Benson, the famous American jazz and R&B guitarist, born March 22, 1943 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, is also a singer and songwriter. His exceptional career spanned several decades, beginning in the 1960s as a jazz guitarist.

In the 1970s, Benson achieved immense success fusing jazz with R&B and pop. His breakthrough 1976 album, "Breezin'," was a turning point, winning several Grammy Awards. His guitar virtuosity and distinctive voice have made him an influential figure in contemporary music.

Ibanez had the opportunity to collaborate with George Benson to create a series of hollow body guitars, marketed under the brand name. The signature series began in 1977 with the iconic GB10 model, marking the first artist signature model produced by Ibanez.
