Fender Stratocaster Mark Knopfler Artist Series Signature from 2005
Mark Knopfler is a British artist who rose to prominence as the frontman of the rock band Dire Straits. Born in Scotland in 1949, he grew up in Newcastle, England and began his musical career in local bands in the 1970s.
And it was in 1977 that he founded Dire Straits, having enjoyed great success in the 80s with titles like "Sultans of Swing", "Money for Nothing" and "Walk of Life".
Dire Straits' music was characterized by Knopfler's unique guitar sound, which blended elements of rock, folk and country.
Mark Knopfler is today recognized as one of the most influential guitarists of his generation. It was therefore quite natural that Fender released a Signature series in 2003, this artist's legendary guitar.
Featuring a 57' style ash body and maple neck 62' vintage C profile with a rosewood fingerboard, this stratocaster takes on the attributes of Mark Knopfler's legendary guitar both in its aesthetics and through its sound.
