Giannini

Giannini Craviola AWKS-6 late 1970's

€0

The Craviola, created by Giannini in collaboration with Brazilian guitarist musician Paulinho Nogueira, is one of the most notable guitars made by Giannini due to its unique shape and distinctive sonic identity.

It gained considerable exposure after being used by Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page. Indeed, from September 1971 to June 1972, the latter used a 12-string Craviola, model GWSCRA12-P, mainly during performances of "Tangerine" by Led Zeppelin.

Jimmy Page received two Craviolas (one with six strings and the other, according to his request, with twelve) as a gift from Giannini himself during his visit to Rio de Janeiro.

And it is its characteristic sound, intended as a mixture between a harpsichord (in Portuguese, cravo) and the traditional Brazilian 10-string guitar, the viola caipira, which inspired Nogueira to get the name Craviola.

Here for sale is a very beautiful model of Craviola AWKS-6 manufactured by Giannini during the late 1970s.
