€0

Mark Knopfler is a British artist who rose to prominence as the frontman of the rock band Dire Straits. Born in Scotland in 1949, he grew up in Newcastle, England and began his musical career in local bands in the 1970s.

And it was in 1977 that he founded Dire Straits, having enjoyed great success in the 80s with titles like "Sultans of Swing", "Money for Nothing" and "Walk of Life".

Dire Straits' music was characterized by Knopfler's unique guitar sound, which blended elements of rock, folk and country.

Mark Knopfler is today recognized as one of the most influential guitarists of his generation. It was therefore quite natural that Fender released a Signature series in 2003 of this artist's legendary guitar.

Featuring a 57' style ash body and a 62' vintage C profile maple neck with a rosewood fingerboard, this stratocaster takes on the attributes of Mark Knopfler's legendary guitar both in its aesthetic and through its sound.

Here is a model dated 2003, the first year of production of this guitar, which beyond its serial number 00499, is also distinguished by a denser Hot Rod Red finish, almost close to the Dakota Red finish.
