Klira's history dates back to the 1940s, when two brothers, Hermann and Ernst Klier, founded the company in Erlangen, Germany.

The latter, talented and passionate luthiers, began by making high-quality violins and violas, with an emphasis on precise craftsmanship and sound quality. Their reputation quickly spread, and demand for their instruments increased.

In the 1950s, the brand expanded its product line to include electric guitars and acoustic guitars. Klira guitars have been highly praised for their tone and comfortable playability.

Over the following decades, Klira became a well-established brand in the European musical instrument market. The company continued to innovate and develop new guitar models to meet the needs of musicians of different disciplines.

In the 1960s and 1970s, Klira would achieve great success with his electric guitars, which were popular in the emerging rock 'n' roll and pop music scene. Klira instruments were renowned for their elegant aesthetics with distinctive designs.

The brand's guitars have become sought-after collector's items among enthusiasts and collectors of vintage instruments.

Although the Klira brand has not been in business since 1982, its legacy lives on through the many instruments it has produced.

Here is a beautiful model 300 manufactured by Klira in Germany during the 1960s.

This model is made as a copy of the Hofner model 172, but also inspired by the Ohio model from the Jacobacci Brothers.
