The Gibson Barney Kessel was produced from 1961 to 1974 and was used by many renowned jazz guitarists, including Herb Ellis, Wes Montgomery and Pat Metheny.

Available in two models, the standard and a more luxurious version like this guitar: the Custom model.

Only around 740 Customs were produced over the twelve years of production, making this a fairly rare guitar on the market.

Here is an originally right-handed copy, modified by one of its former owners to be left-handed.

This guitar has very good playing comfort, particularly pleasant with a low action and a standard set of flat wound strings.
