A brand founded in 1959 by Oliviero Pigini. Note that Oliviero Pigini was, before 1959, a distributor of parts and accessories for accordions.
Listening to musicians and always very responsive, EKO will establish itself in Europe.
And it was very quickly that it was broadcast in 28 countries around the world.
Particularly in the United States where it will be imported by LoDuco Bros, a company created by a family of Italian emigrants.
It was at the very beginning of the 1960s, faced with the immense popularity of the Beatles, that many musicians adopted the group's outfit, in which Paul McCartney's bass in the shape of a violin is proudly displayed.
So many manufacturers tried to reproduce this bass in their own way.
And one of the first models released in this genre from Eko was the 1150 model, which appeared in the catalog in 1963 and whose production lasted two years between 1962 and 1964.
This model was equipped with a bridge screwed to the table, an imitation red tortoiseshell pickguard and two microphones controlled by accordion-type push buttons as is very common to see on the different models of the firm at this time. era.
